General information only

Everything written here describes the kind of work we do and the sorts of faults we find. It is general information. It is not advice about your property, your plumbing or your gas installation, because we have not seen them.

No two properties are the same. What is written here may not apply to yours, and it should not be relied on in place of a licensed plumber attending and looking at the job.

No diagnosis from a web page

Nothing on this site can tell you what is wrong at your address. Where we describe a check — a water meter that should sit still, a relief valve that drips during heating, dye in a cistern — we are explaining what we do and what it tells us, so you know what to expect. It is not a set of instructions for you to carry out.

The exceptions are the safety steps: turning water off at the meter when it is pouring out, and leaving the building without touching switches if you can smell gas. Those are worth doing straight away.

Gas safety

If you can smell gas, leave the building, do not operate anything electrical, and ring from outside. If the smell is strong or anyone feels unwell, contact the emergency services first. Gas leak repair

No prices here

We do not publish prices, price ranges or estimates on this site, because a price that has not been based on seeing the work is not a price. Quotes are given in writing on site, after a licensed plumber has attended. There is no call-out fee for that visit.

Suburb information

Where we describe Harrisdale or the suburbs around it — when they were built, how many people live there, how the housing is made up — that information comes from published public sources including the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and it describes the suburb in general. It is not a statement about your individual property.

External organisations

Where we refer to Water Corporation or any other organisation, we are describing our understanding of their published position. They set their own policies and they may change them. Check with them directly on anything that matters to you, including leak allowances.

Licensing

Plumbing licence 8396 and gas licence 13098 are held by the person carrying out the work. Work is done under those licences.
